Jamie Paul and Desert Dandilion Designs

Jamie Paul grew up mostly in Sierra Vista, Arizona, with a few years in Woodbridge, Virginia and several weeks most summers in Nebraska and Missouri. She is the youngest of four kids born in two batches of two, and was an auntie by the time she graduated kindergarten. She has always always loved animals and currently has two cats and two dogs and three fish, but the cats are about to double, and chickens are coming soon!

Jamie lives in the best woods y neighborhood in Flagstaff, AZ and most of her artwork is inspired by the deserts and mountains of the southwest and their residents, from horny toads to javelinas and lupine to ponderosa.

She lived in Texas and Colorado after graduating from undergrad at NAU in Flagstaff, and has worked as a teacher, librarian, nonprofit marketer and graphic designer, community organizer, web-designer, camp-director, artist, author, photographer, illustrator, and muralist. She currently works at NAU as Marketing & Communications Coordinator for the College of Arts and Letters, teaches a little piano, does some side design work and Works with a team of fabulous ladies to run Montessori Forest Adventurers, a nonprofit camp and enrichment program getting kids outside and off screen in Flagstaff.

Jamie published her first book in 2014 and started creating art for sale officially in 2022. She knows dandilion is spelled with an e, but likes the i better for aesthetic reasons, and has always been a bit enamored with the desert and with the toughest flowers that sprout from anywhere and everywhere to feed the bees, even when people try and try to keep them down.

Jamie created Desert Dandilion Designs because she loves to help people look at the world with a touch of whimsy and joy by creating beautiful jolly things. She also loves to hike and play outside, read, write, consume stories of all kinds, and pet all the available animals from cats and dogs to goats and chickens.
